Seattle ice cream merchants Molly Moon's is launching its in-house record label, Mooncrew Records, with the release of Keepers by local pop artist Cataldo. To celebrate the album, Cataldo (aka Eric Anderson) will perform at Molly Moon's Capitol Hill branch Saturday, April 22, at noon. Mooncrew is a vinyl-centric imprint devoted to releasing music created by Molly Moon's employees. Judging from the two songs available on Keepers, its mellow, pretty pop songcraft will appeal to fans of Death Cab for Cutie, Sufjan Stevens, and others of their ilk. The LP will be sold exclusively at all Molly Moon's locations April 21-28. It will be available through iTunes on Friday, April 28. Listen to "Photograph" below.

Shop owner Molly Moon Neitzel has a background in activism with the non-profit organization Music for America, in which she strove to increase voter registration among music fans and promote progressive candidates and initiatives. For Mooncrew, she plans on selecting one artist per year from her workforce to promote and release music. You can read more about Mooncrew Records' mission here.

In addition to the April 22 release party at Molly Moon's, Cataldo will play live sets April 20 at Tractor Tavern and April 28 at Century Ballroom.
