Tim Burgess Has a New Job: The Seattle city council veteran was sworn in as mayor yesterday afternoon. He will hold the job until November 28. Burgess' first big duty: Presenting the city budget to the council on Monday. In the wake of former mayor Ed Murray's resignation over child rape allegations, some have called for additional funding for sex abuse survivors.

But No Word on Who Will Replace Him Yet: Council members will also appoint someone to fill Burgess' citywide seat until the November elections. Former council member Nick Licata is interested. John Okamoto, who in 2015 filled in for Sally Clark, is a rumored possibility. Several speakers during yesterday's council meeting urged transparency in the appointment process, which means letting the public have some input.

One of Ed Murray's Accusers Gives First Televised Interview: Delvonn Heckard told KING 5 he still plans to re-file his child sex abuse lawsuit against former mayor Ed Murray, saying, "He still needs to be held accountable. The other people, they want him to be held accountable also." Speaking with reporter Elisa Hahn, Heckard said he "cried all day" after hearing the news of Murray's resignation. Heckard is one of five men who have publicly accused Murray of sexually assaulting them when they were teenagers in the 70s and 80s. His since-dropped civil lawsuit against Murray set off the cascade of allegations that ultimately led to the mayor stepping down. Watch his whole interview here. And if you haven't yet, read the stories of Murray's other accusers, including Jeff Simpson, Lloyd Anderson, Maurice Jones and Joseph Dyer.

The Times reporters who broke the story of the accusations are doing a Reddit AMA at 11 a.m.

Traffic Questions Could Hold Up KeyArena Renovation: That was the big takeaway during yesterday's public hearing on Oak View Group's plan to spruce up the Lower Queen Anne sports and entertainment venue. OVC would rather pay for traffic mitigation over 39 years, rather than a lump sum. OVC and its supporters want to finalize an agreement with the city ASAP to ready up Seattle for a pro hockey team. Some city council members and community groups urged patience to come up with a plan to best mitigate traffic during the construction period, which could last two years.

Earlier this morning, UN Secretary General AntĂłnio Guterres called for "stronger international cooperation."

Hurricane Maria Hits Dominica, Headed Toward Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands: Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said the hurricane caused "widespread devastation" on the island nation. There have not yet been any reports on injuries or deaths. The National Weather Service says Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, already badly damaged by Hurricane Irma, should brace for "life-threatening impacts."
