The Pioneer Square location of Elliott Bay Books was wonderful in so many ways. Better than Powell's. This "new" location is fine, but lacks the character of the original. Probably an apt metaphor for Seattle in the 90s vs Seattle now.
I agree with #1 and yet I am happy that the bookstore is still around and doing well. When it was in Pioneer Square it was one of my favorite places to go (when I lived in Seattle).
