"Iole Alessandrini defies easy classification. Her works straddle the boundary between art and architecture, sculpture and installation. Her permanent, public works, like her recent re-do of the fountain at Westlake Park, have made her art accessible to a wide audience, few of whom are likely aware to the complex ideas and inspirations that inform her pieces. We’ll look at both her stand-alone sculptures and her public art, talking about the common impulses and challenges of taking her ideas to the streets." (Promo Copy)
