That's Why I'm Supporting the Good Jobs for Good Airports Act

As the rest of our air travel system moves forward with the pandemic, we cannot let airport workers go backwards by returning to the same insufficient pay, benefits, and workplace conditions. John Moore / GETTY

Rep. Smith, I applaud any efforts to stem the tide of economic justice going backwards during the last 45 years, but why has the "Democratic" Party generally been so passively (and sometimes actively) complicit in the Reagan Restoration of economic inequality?

MLK realized late in his short life that without economic justice, all other justice is pretty much impossible. But the dirty little secret is that the Democratic establishment - the pols and apparatchiks and fatcat donors - like their Reaganomics tax cuts just fine, and their portfolios bulging from economic injustice. They pay lip service and some policy effort to other types of justice, but hardly any real effort toward economic justice, none that has lasting durability. They have been Wall Street's boys and girls.

With only a half-apology to James Carville, that Clinton enabler, "It's the economic justice, stupid."

@2 levying taxes is the most inefficient form of economic justice you can deploy. It literally is a blunt force tool. Levy taxes to pay for social services, yes. Levy taxes to create equity or income redistribution, no. There are much better economic policies that can be used to achieve those goals.

Gurl, you all didn’t even pass the Raise the Wage Act in 2021.
