@1, She is no longer a freelance, by the piece writer for The Stranger. She is now a $70k a year and benefits staff writer again.

Or is the "huh," more a question of why they would rehire her for a role that either she left, or they laid her off from, four years ago.

That's an easy one. They recently had to let two writers go for lying. Nathalie has experience in the role, and was available.

Gee, now that there seem to be a couple openings, it would be nice if The Stranger brought back Nathalie as a staff reporter. I don't know, maybe she isn't interested on her end.
