Howard Schultz is a vindictive piece of shit. The Sonics sale is proof of that. Too bad their coffee doesn’t suck.

1) I think Howard Schultz made the right move selling the Sonics. ..... why invest in Seattle... its a hot mess of labor unrest, crime, drugs and anarchy.

2) Sadly he had to endure the Bernie rants and rave show...what a freak.... I'd of just said yes Bernie you appear to be right on everything and every issue in this country, but I'd like to wait until we get more information before responding.... and got the hell out of there. It was like watching Sen. McCarthy hearings.

3) Howard Schultz only owns about 2% of Starbucks.... frankly, I'd sell it off, then short about 22 millions shares and let the unions run the show. Let them show us how its done.

Union-busting is nasty and illegal, and I hope Starbucks pays the full prices for it. That said, what is the purpose of a union at Starbucks? For all the writers at the Stranger rave about how great it would be if (other) workers form unions, I’ve never had this explained.

The final tool in the Union toolbox is the strike, the collective denial of labor which forces the bosses to deal, concede, whatever. If every Starbucks had all workers go out on strike tomorrow, what would be the result? Starbucks does not make cars or airplanes, they don’t operate cranes at the port. Starbucks sells overpriced coffee, pastries, and knick-knacks nobody needs. There would be some grumbling, but except at a few locations, other coffee shops would quickly pick up the abandoned customers. Life would go on, and the striking workers would eventually either have to back to work, or lose their jobs permanently. Everyone knows this, so what’s the point of forming and maintaining a union that cannot ever ultimately become an effective union?

@7
But he sold the Sonics! He is worse than Hitler, Eva Braun and Trump together on a picnic in Berchtesgaden . So he's gotta pay for selling the Sonics..

This is God taking revenge. God is a coming down from high and he's gonna smite that old Howard but good.

Watch his 2% ownership of Starbucks drop like a rock...... many, many retirement portfolios (old folks on a pension) also pay the price for this evil company that serves coffee... but hey... he's gotta pay for what he done.

Bernie was right... he has money, lots of it and his employees got nothing ... their first job and they haven't even made their first million. Man, that's raw. They only make $17.50 plus tips.... I mean that's like $35,000 out of high school, not counting tips..... what a rip off.

No, we need to go to $22+ per hour right away.... raise taxes, invoke a wealth tax and provide more means to transfer wealth to the poor. We gotta do this right away.

Won't somebody think of the children!

Happy people)
nyt:

'Frank Martela, a psychology researcher at Aalto University, agreed with Ms. Paasimaki’s assessment. “The fact that Finland has been ‘the happiest country on earth’ for six years in a row could start building pressure on people,” he wrote in an email. “If we Finns are all so happy, why am I not happy?”

He continued, “In that sense, dropping to be the second-happiest country could be good for the long-term happiness of Finland.”'

"I was intrigued
to hear so many of the
Finnish people talking about art,
music, and nature instead of work stress,
housing costs, and the latest mass shooting.

I envy them."
