The former Ali Baba space on Broadway was transformed into the sleek Pinto Thai Bistro & Sushi Bar, which sounds fusiony but serves mostly "traditional and modern" Thai and, separately, Japanese food. The pad thai is notably sweet; the specialty version, Samurai Pad Thai, is just the regular dish topped with tempura shrimp. Green curry is fine, if not exceptional. Same with the sushi, which is where the main experimentation occurs—goofy, multipartite rolls including sauces like sweet chili, strawberry (!), and wasabi mayo. Note that after the first couple disorganized-seeming months, sushi chef Super Dave Nakamura (from J Sushi) parted ways with Pinto. Also note: Pinto offers delivery.
