Her egregious malfeasances alienated “her” constituency to the point they almost revoked the powers they had granted her — and their attempt itself effectively ended her ability to make any more threats. It’s really hard to find anyone who failed harder in the legislative role.

Sawant's time on the council ends pretty much in the same way that her entire tenure on the council was spent: lots of bluster and lots of broken promises.

This was nothing more than political theatre.
The same can be said for most of the stunts she pulled while in office.

The Stranger has gone full into the death spiral of failed extremism begetting ever more extremist extremism, in the certain belief the only thing which could ever possibly be wrong with extremism is that it just didn’t go extreme enough. Dehumanizing rhetoric blasting against anyone deemed an enemy will continue until the extremists either get exhausted and quit, or turn their endless hateful rage upon each other.
