The Met Museum knew that was coming. Everything that dealer touched was looted. They've been cooperating with these investigations for years; most museums have. Even Hobby Lobby has been cooperating.

The British Museum isn't giving back those Parthenon "Elgin" Marbles anytime soon. You see, that was a legitimate looting.

Is it my imagination or are the Brits starting to make the Nazis look ethnic inclusive? Boris Johnson took a shit all over Brexit & now he's making his exit just as the Irish border problems are still looking messy.

Some things you can rely on, like the sun rising in the East and 2A fanboys pretending with a straight face that knives are every bit as deadly as guns. No sooner do a pair of nuts manage to engage in a cross-Sasketchewan stabbing spree, then @4 pops up to recite the chapter and verse they keep at the ready for such occasions. Ready? Here goes:

"See, this just proves that it's not ready access to guns that are the problem, because if people couldn't get guns, they'd just massacre their high school with a stapler!"

Horrible tragedy about the floatplane. Condolences to all. Wonder if we are going to hear more about the competency of the pilot. Crashing a floatplane into the water during fair weather raises questions, I think. Or maybe the pilot had a stoke/heart attack? Will we ever know?

Too bad about Pacific Place. Bad timing for a mall, though. Even an upscale one. Restoration Hardware was always too rich for my blood. Twenty-five hundred dollar club chairs? Whew! Not for me. L’Occitane soaps that were $20 a bar, and the $350 toaster at Williams-Sonoma (seriously). Did enjoy Il Fornaio for a while, but heard it sort of deteriorated later on. Liked the cinemas, too. I hit a lot of $5 matinees there. Everything comes and goes – just like lovers and styles of clothes.

I’m really rather furious that a Trump-appointed judge gets to decide anything about this investigation. Just like I’ll be furious, if I make it until then, on Election Night 2024 when all those Trump-endorsed secretaries of state and county registrars are in place. Sigh. Puke. Sigh.

So, see? The government is capable of nobility in returning stolen antiquities. Thanks from a fan.

Fuck it's hot in LA! Someone run and get me a lemon coke.

@5, you do better when you use your logic to write speeches for Trumpenstein.

@6, "...it's hot in LA!" My condolences to you. My nephew in Encino was saying it's been 105-110 all week, & in the 100s till midnight. It's 'February' here in Montevideo UY where I came to beat the heat, & today a cab driver was complaining to me about the heat. It's been 60-80 about 1/3 of the 6 weeks I've been here when it should be 35-45. God bless Kellyanne Conway & alternative facts.

@7 - lucky you, Mike. Uruguay was always on my bucket list.

Back in the mid-70s I had the opportunity to work in Buenos Aires, but it was an uneasy time in Argentina, and I was told to keep my mouth shut. That kind of scared me away, but now that I'm older and in retrospect, I think I could have handled it. Oh well.
