The Broadway at the Paramount just announced their 2018/2019 season today, adding to this year's already full-to-bursting calendar of excellent local events. The full lineup, which is listed below, includes multiple-time Tony Award winners like Disney's The Lion King, Wicked, and Cats, as well as new productions like Andrew Lloyd Webber's School of Rock. As of now, only subscription renewals are on sale, but we recommend marking your calendars now—and stay tuned, as new subscriptions will go on sale soon, with single ticket sales to follow later.

JUNE 27-JULY 1
The Color Purple
This Tony-winning musical, based on the novel by Alice Walker, is about the tumultuous family life of an African American woman, Celie, in the oppressive South during the 20th century. John Doyle, himself a Tony laureate, will direct this Broadway production.

SEPTEMBER 11-16
Waitress
A village waitress in an unhappy marriage expresses her emotions in pie form in this musical, based on Adrienne Shelley's cult film and scripted by Jessie Nelson, with songs by Sara Bareilles and direction by Tony winner Diane Paulus.

OCT 23-28
On Your Feet!
Based on the lives of Cuban-born stars Emilio and Gloria Estefan, this musical features Olivier Award-winning Sergio Trujillo's choreography and a script by Alexander Dinelaris (Birdman).

DEC 18-JAN 6
Disney's The Lion King
Julie Taymor's jaw-dropping, puppet-filled production of The Lion King will visit Seattle in its Circle of Life. Elton John music, Tony-winning direction, treachery, youth, and revenge...the works.

JAN 23-FEB 2, 2019
Dear Evan Hansen
Dear Evan Hansen has nabbed six Tony Awards, with prizes going to the book writer Steven Levenson, composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, and director Michael Greif. It tells the story of a socially anxious teenager who gets caught up in an inadvertent falsehood when a classmate commits suicide.

MARCH 26-31, 2019
Cats!
In case you were born yesterday: Cats is a musical pairing T.S. Eliot's sprightly feline poetry with Andrew Lloyd Webber's beltable tunes. Trevor Nunn will direct this revival.

AUG 8-19, 2019
The Phantom of the Opera
Look forward to impressive operatic singing, a creepy theater-dweller in a mask, and new special effects (including a probably dramatic/startling chandelier scene) in this new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera.

MAY 14-19, 2019
School of Rock
Dewey Finn is a substitute teacher who turns his class into one huge rock band. Andrew Lloyd Webber has composed 14 new songs for this new musical, based on the Richard Linklater-Jack Black film.

JUNE 12-JULY 7, 2019
Wicked
Anticipate another return of the megapopular musical that presents another perspective on The Wizard of Oz.

JULY 31-AUG 11, 2019
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Follow Charlie Bucket through the delicious but treacherous Chocolate Factory in this musical adaptation of the Roald Dahl novel, featuring songs from the 1971 movie with Gene Wilder.
