The constitution is red herring. It's all about Facebooks' Terms of Service Agreement. Good for FB.

Endangering the public through stupidity and refusal to follow protocols in order to protect lives is not a right, no matter how much the protesters or the trolls commenting here believe it is.

Check out the new number of cases and deaths in Michigan (and beyond). They're going to go up in every place these assholes congregate. And the protesters will be first in line for the already overwhelmed health care workers to save their pathetic lives. Unlike them, those who work in the health care industry aren't allowed to randomly kill anyone they please.

It is important to be very clear about what is going on. Social distancing and mask recommendations are not to protect your own health, it is to protect the health of others. These people are protesting not for their own "freedoms" but for the "right" to harm other people. As much as many Republicans may wish it so, the right to kill for your own conveniences does not exist in our constitution, State or Federal.

I genuinely hope each of the individuals who attend these protests dies from COVID

Nobody is hindering them from financing their own OC192 connection and stuffing their basement with server racks. FB is their own platform.

@7 I'm just here for the fatal irony

Imagine surviving the Holocaust and being killed by COVID-19 (thanks to Trump). Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. A day we are supposed to face the horror of what humanity can do and to vow to never allow it to happen again. Remember that as Trump urges people to die for him, for "the economy," for the wealthy, for this country. Trump is a mass murderer who does not even require an army of Nazis to kill for him, because his depraved indifference to life, his enablers, his bat shit insane supporters, and COVID-19 are doing it for him.

This is Alan Zimm's story. He is not even remotely the only Holocaust survivor that has died in this country from COVID-19.

@11 Let's start with you. I hope you personally die from COVID

@9: Viruses are not political enablers. They're just a tad of DNA, not DNC or RNC.

@14 Trump, just like COVID-19, does not care who dies. His encouragement of the "protests" is political and their actions will kill people and it will kill all kinds of people, not just his base. His goal is death and destruction. The fact that he does not care who dies is something his supporters and enablers have not yet grasped.

@15: No doubt. Taking advantage of the virus's devastation. I concur my nuancing was too granular to your point.

Anthony Fauci, the top government official on infectious diseases, warned Monday that protests in opposition to governors' stay-at-home orders meant to slow the spread of the coronavirus will "backfire" and further delay the reopening of the economy.

"Clearly this is something that is hurting from the standpoint of economics and the standpoint of things that have nothing to do with the virus, but unless we get the virus under control, the real recovery economically is not going to happen," Fauci said.

Sooo, you're totally giving back your $1,200 federal stimulus check and/or $600 a week unemployment payments, yes?

If these conservative retards want to kill themselves and their families by gathering in large groups and getting infected with Covid-19, we should let them. It'll cull the herd of a lot of really stupid people.

Let Patriot Prayer and Gibson lead the way. Show us how to be martyrs for stupidity, Joey!

So, in private, Miller agreed that Facebook is doing the right thing, and supported that a private business is allowed to enforce their policies as they see fit. But immediately afterward, in public, he said the exact opposite in order to rile up his redneck supporters.

Yeah. That sounds exactly like a modern republican. They're horrible people.

Where is the neo-Nazi domestic terrorist Joey Gibson getting financial support from to spend on Facebook ads? GOP PACs? Trump Jr.? Betsy DeVos' creepy family? The media should follow the money.

@18: Too bad that your vengeance fantasy loses its appeal when you realize it's just adds to the burden endured by nurses and doctors.

23 refers to 19

@25 Agreed. Die at home without endangering the healthcare workers. Own the libs via sweet, sweet death surrounded by your black velvet American Eagle patriot paintings.

Please go congregate - bring every Proud Boy and MAGA-t and shake hands and cough on each other. PLEASE.

The very very Brave MAGAts/Freedom Fighters
need to sign DNRs and DNIs* and truly put
their Lives where their Politics are
and NOT endanger frontline
Healthcare Workers

wearing proper PPE
PAID FOR by their Employers.

*Do NOT Resusitate/Intubate
those personally Irresponsible
endangering Other peep's LIVES.

I agree with Eli, but we need to check our biases. If there were events advocating for shielding undocumented aliens from ICE I'd be supportive, but would have to concede that Facebook's policies could force a removal of postings.

Thanks for the article. I watched a video of Dr. Erickson and Dr. Massihi on covid-19. Here is an overview of what is in it:
--In CA, ICUs are empty and medical staff furloughed
--Used current data to extrapolate the infection rates and death rates of US, Spain, Norway and Sweden. Millions of cases, small amount of deaths.
--With infection and death rates similar to flu, does that necessitate a shutdown?
--Compared lock down in Norway with no lock down in Sweden.
--Secondary effect of covid shut down (molestation, spousal abuse, alcoholism, anxiety, depression, suicide, etc.)
--How the immune system works and why we need bacteria and viruses to be healthy.
--Sheltering in place actually lowers the immune system.
--Inaccurate models based on theory vs what doctors are seeing in reality.
--Are you really protecting yourself? Masks, shopping, etc.
--Time to get back to work
--Hospital admins are pressuring ER doctors to add covid to the death certificate. Why?
--Measures to implement to prevent future shut downs.
--Go outside and get some vitamin D.
Very positive and useful info.
