And, even when people adopt children for insincere reasons, the last thing the child needs to read about in the tabloids and rags is that he or she is just a token. Why? Because parent and child bonding have still taken place - or at least that should be the default assumption.

@CM, There are a lot of racist people who don’t have a "problem" with skin color. That’s why so many racists don’t think they’re racist. What makes them racist is that they can’t see or are unwilling to acknowledge (most often systemic) racism in others and society at large.
